Militarization impacts the social, ecological, and political ways of facing the climate catastrophe.
Wars emphasize the exploitation of natural and human resources in terms of production and execution, military exercises in complex ecosystems destroy biodiversity and 5,5% of the global emissions are linked to military activities, still without the rebuilding of destroyed areas.
Resource scarcity caused by neocolonialism and capitalistic structures of the Global North is at the same time the root and the consequence of war, as well as both are the main causes for flight and seeking refuge.
Activists and experts in international relationships discuss the impact of militarization from different perspectives and local consequences in Mexico, Ukraine, and Uganda in a hybrid panel.
